Carolina vs New York Islanders Prediction 30 April 2024

With the score 3-1 in favor of Carolina, the series returns to Raleigh, where the "Hurricanes" will try to finish off the "Islanders," securing their spot in the conference semifinals. The fifth match will take place on May 1st at the "PNC Arena". The main question is whether it will be the last one?

Carolina rightfully took three opening meetings and could have closed the series in the shortest time, but in the fourth game, they did not play to their maximum potential. Rod Brind'Amour's proteges started well and quickly scored, capitalizing on a power play, but ultimately had to save themselves from defeat, taking the game into overtime. There, the "Hurricanes" were more active, they posed a greater threat to the goal, but it was the opponent who scored.

Facing elimination, New York managed to gather all its strength and at least slightly revived the intrigue in the series. Goalie Varlamov, who replaced Sorokin in the net, had an excellent game. Without his saves, this result would not have been possible. And the main star – Mathew Barzal. He both equalized the score and scored the winning puck in overtime. Overall, Patrick Roy's guys really had a good match, so there remains a glimmer of hope for them, albeit a very small one.

The home team's lineup will still be missing Fast. The guests will be without Martin and Mayfield. Losing the latter is a painful blow to the team's defense.

The "Islanders" have given hockey fans something resembling intrigue, for which they can be thanked. However, home Carolina is a formidable force. The "Hurricanes" have won 6 out of their last 7 home games and, we believe, will do so again.
