Malta vs Switzerland Prediction 13 April 2024
Match Preview
Malta and Switzerland will face off in the final round of the preliminary round of qualifying for Euro 2026 in futsal. The two strongest teams from each group advance to the next round of qualification, and the Maltese together with the Swiss have already done this, which they can be congratulated for. Now the opponents are left to decide who among them is more deserving of the top spot.
The Malta team did not meet worthy resistance from Scotland and Gibraltar. The Brits managed to oppose them with something and even scored one goal, whereas the Gibraltarians conceded eight unanswered goals. Mark Zammit and Maikinho both marked hat-tricks in the match against the outsider.
The Swiss were a tad more modest, scoring one goal less both into Scotland's and Gibraltar's nets. Therefore, due to a worse goal difference, they are behind Malta in the fight for first place in the quartet. And it's worth noting that matches against these opponents really were more challenging for Joao Pinto's charges than for the Maltese.
Probable line-ups:
Malta: Mifsud, Alves, Zammit, Maikinho, Telisi
Switzerland: Aranya, Markoyannakis, Baxon, Kerfozi, Florin
As has already been said, the teams of Scotland and Gibraltar caused the Swiss far more problems than the Maltese did. In terms of the quality of play, Malta is definitely the strongest team in this group, so we will side with them in the battle for first place.
