In the third round of the preliminary qualification round of the European Futsal Championship 2026, the Israeli team will meet the Austrians. The Israelis are hosts only nominally, as all the matches of Group B actually take place in Austria.
Israel is in second place, however, it hasn't defeated any of its pursuers, therefore finding itself in a difficult position. Avi Kalfa's charges are ahead of San Marino and Bulgaria by just one point, and they have a match against the undisputed leader of the quartet ahead. In case of a defeat, the "blue and whites" will most likely lose the second spot and drop out of the race.
The Austrians are the strongest team in the group, rightfully occupying the first place. Both previous matches under Patrick Barbich were won, with a dominating game advantage. They have six points, so even in case of failure in the final round, the team will remain the leader of the quartet.
